Q.
Why do I need to complete the training for services facilitators?

A.
The Department of Medical Assistance Services has refined and standardized the training of Services Facilitators and has made it a requirement in order to provide Services Facilitation. All Services Facilitators, and staff employed by Services Facilitators to function as a Services Facilitator, must complete this DMAS-approved Consumer-Directed Services Facilitator training.

Q.
Do I have to complete the modules in order?

A.
No, however, if you do not complete them in order, you will miss important information that helps in understanding the module material. We strongly recommend that you begin with Module 1 and complete the modules in order. Completing Module 1 learning assessment is important in that learning assessment certificates of completion will not be released until the first learning assessment has been successfully completed.

Q.
How do I register?

A.
You register by clicking on the Registration and Learning Assessment link in Module 1.

Q.
Do I have to register before completing the modules?

A.
You can complete the modules without registering, however, in order to complete the learning assessment, you have to register.

If you have not previously registered, click on “First Time Users—New Registration.”  The next screen will then ask you to enter information about yourself.  This is where you also create a user name and a password (which you can use each time you complete a learning assessment). If you are returning to the site after registering, simply enter your user name and password, and then click “Login.”

You can access all posted resources and modules at any time without a login. However, only your "username" and "password" will provide you access to the required learning assessments-quizzes; enable the system to track your progress; and provide you with certifications.

Q.
Will I receive a certificate of completion?

A.
After you complete each module and part (Modules 2, 3, and 4 have a Part A and a Part B), you must take and pass the learning assessment for each module and part; thus you will have seven certificates. You will be able to save your certificate as a pdf file and print it out.

Q.
How do I stop the module if I need to take a break?

A.
To pause the module, click on the double parallel bars. When you are ready to proceed, click on the forward (arrow) button.

Q.
What happens if I do not pass a learning assessment?

A.
You have five chances to receive a passing score for each learning assessment. If you do NOT pass the assessment after five tries, you will get the following message:   Sorry!  You have already attempted this post-quiz 5 times. You will need to contact Tera Yoder at 804-828-3879 to be able to try again.

Please note: Effective September 1, 2016, the names of two of the Medicaid Waivers referenced in the modules changed.

The Intellectual Disability (ID) Waiver is now the Community Living (CL) Waiver.

The Individual and Family Developmental Disabilities Support (IFDDS or DD) Waiver is now the Family and Individual Supports (FIS) Waiver.
