    The Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network (VA ITSN) strives to achieve excellence in early care by increasing the educational level and skills of those who care for infants and toddlers, whether in family
    homes or in centers. Fifteen highly qualified infant and toddler specialists work in eight regional offices across the state. The specialists provide three levels of service designed to strengthen the capacity of early care and education programs to deliver high quality services:
    • Level 1:
      On-site consultation services including mentoring and support using quality improvement plans.
    • Level 2:
      Training and technical assistance to groups of caregivers/teachers and directors.
    • Level 3:
      Resources and linkages to existing professional development opportunities. Programs receiving services
      from the VA ITSN have achieved measurable outcomes that indicate improved quality of care for infants and toddlers.
  • Where Can I Borrow an ASQ:SE-2 Screening Kit? This list contains the contact information of people who received a ASQ:SE-2 kit on behalf of Project SEED Virginia. All of the people on this list confirmed that they were okay being contacted by community partners if they need access to an ASQ:SE-2 Starter Kit. Unless otherwise noted in the document, this list contains the location of current ASQ:SE-2 Starter Kits as of October 17, 2016.
  • Where Can I Borrow an ASQ-3 Developmental Screening Kit? This list is a combination of people who have access to a kit before Project SEED Virginia distributed kits, as well as the names of people who received a kit on behalf of Project SEED Virginia.   • CSEFEL Pyramid Model Infant Toddler Trainer Guide This Trainer Guide is a companion to the Promoting Social Emotional Competence Infant and Toddler Modules developed by the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) located at Vanderbilt University, http://csefel.vanderbilt.edu/. The CSEFEL materials reflect evidencebased practices for promoting children's social and emotional development and preventing challenging behaviors. This Trainer Guide is intended for use by trainers as they assist early care providers, through professional development, to improve the social and emotional outcomes of infants and toddlers in their care.  Training Formats: This Trainer Guide is designed to be used in conjunction with the CSEFEL Infant and Toddler Modules 1 and 2. Included are three training options; each option covers 12 hours of training.  For each module, there are revised trainer outlines that provide guidance when delivering training in each of the three different option formats:
    Option 1. Two, Seven Hour Sessions (includes 1 hour lunch break)
    Option 2. Four, Three Hour Sessions
    Option 3. Six, Two Hour Sessions

Think you can spot a developmental milestone?  Take the milestones quiz on this page to find out! Developmental milestones are skills that mark a child’s development; things most children can do by a certain age. Milestones like babbling, finding hidden objects, and playing alongside or with other kids provide clues about your child’s developmental health.  So, look for your child’s milestones regularly, celebrate them, and record them to share with your child’s pediatrician using free resources for parents from CDC’s Learn the Signs.
