Bio:
Mary Dodson is a Secondary Program Specialist at the VDOE's Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) at VCU. Originally from New Jersey, Mary resides in Virginia Beach with her husband Carl and special cat, "Kitty." She has two grown children who live in LA and DC. Mary enjoys travel, cooking, reading, and exercise of all types.
Professional Experience:
As a career special educator and department chair, Mary has extensive experience in providing and instructing teachers in the delivery of special education services. Mary is a certified Wilson Reading instructor and an Orton-Gillingham and Fusion Reading Coach. Currently, she provides support for teachers in Regions 1 and 8 in multi-sensory reading instruction, inclusive practices, on-site and virtual professional learning sessions.
