Overview
Project Combining Research, Engagement, and Art to Enhance Wellbeing (CREATE-Wellbeing) will bring together diverse stakeholders from across the VCU and Richmond community committed to using research, community engagement, and art to promote holistic wellbeing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Members of the committee represent VCU Schools of Education, Medicine, and Arts, self-advocates with IDD, and community artists who will work together to develop relationships, knowledge, and skills related to community engaged, arts-informed research. Project CREATE-Wellbeing aims to serve as an example of collaborative, inclusive research, to develop lasting relationships between stakeholders, and to generate findings and art that can guide ongoing conversation and efforts to promote wellbeing for people with IDD.

Major Activities
- Create a committee representing: VCU School of Education, VCU School of Medicine, VCU School of Arts, self-advocates with IDD, and community artists
- Work collaboratively to design a future research project pursuing a public art installation that will embody the work of the group.
