Overview

With funding from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the Partnership for People with Disabilities' Center for Family Involvement operates Virginia's Family to Family Health Information Center (called the Family to Family Network of Virginia). Major Activities

  • Individual Advocacy: families of children and youth with specific health care needs (CYSHCN) and disabilities have access to information and resources to help them in making decisions about their children's health care needs, and in accessing community supports
  • Peer Advocacy: families of CYSHCN and disabilities receive one to one emotional and systems navigational support through a network of experienced and trained parents, called Family Navigators
  • Systems Advocacy : families of CYSHCN and disabilities can be trained as parent leaders advocating to improve the education, health care and long term care services system in Virginia
